【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedtoassistengineersandsewerowner/operatorsindeterminingthesuitabilityofsewersforasecondaryuseashostsforopticalfibercablesandconduits.Itmustbekeptinmindthattheprimaryuseofthesewersistocarrywastewaterand/orstormwater.Anysecondaryuseofthesystemshallnotsignificantlyimpairtheprimaryuse.Itisuptotheengineertodecideuponanyexceptionsthatmaybeinvolvedintheselectionprocess.Beforetheselectionprocedurebegins,theinstallermusthaveexplicitauthorizationfromtheowner/operatorallowinganevaluationtobeconductedfortheinstallationofopticalfibercablesorconduitswithintheirsewersystem.Engineersandownersshouldalsobecognizantofhowtheinstallationofopticalfibercableorconduitswillimpactthefutureoperational,maintenanceandrehabilitationneedsofthesewers.1.1Thispracticespecificallyaddressesthecriteriafordeterminingthesuitabilityofgravitysewersforsecondaryusessuchastheinstallationofopticalfibersystems.1.1.1Thispracticeappliestotheprocessofselectinggravitysewersthatareappropriateforacceptinganopticalfibersystemasopposedtostandardsfortheinstallation,operationandmaintenanceofsuchsystemwithinsewers.1.2Thispracticeappliestobothmanaccessibleandmaninaccessiblesewersystems.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesprovidedinparenthesesareforinformationpurposesonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
