【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationdescribesrequirementsforatubethatmeasurestheerythrocytesedimentationrate(ESR).ESRisthesuspensionstabilityofredcellsindiluted,anti-coagulatedhumanblood.1.1.1Theuseoftheterm"rate"is,strictlyspeaking,notcorrect.Thetestmeasurestheamountofsettlingofredcellsafteraspecifiedtime.1.2Thetubesareusedtogetherwithaspecialracktoensuretheyremaininaverticalpositionduringthetest.1.3Thisspecificationincludesmanydimensionalrequirementsthatare,forthemostpart,inagreementwiththeBritishStandardsInstitution,GermanStandardsInstitute,InternationalCommitteeforStandardizationinHaematology,andtheNationalCommitteeforClinicalLaboratoryStandardspublicationsonWestergrentubes.Theclinicalprocedureusingthetubedescribedinthisspecificationisknownasthe"WestergrenMethod."1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
