【摘要】:Theproceduresdescribed,herein,canbeusedtoevaluatetheseverityofhydrogenchargingofamaterialproducedbyexposuretocorrosiveenvironmentsorbycathodicpolarization.Itcanalsobeusedtodeterminefundamentalpropertiesofmaterialsintermsofhydrogendiffusion(forexample,diffusivityofhydrogen)andtheeffectsofmetallurgical,processing,andenvironmentalvariablesondiffusionofhydrogeninmetals.Thedataobtainedfromhydrogenpermeationtestscanbecombinedwithothertestsrelatedtohydrogenembrittlementorhydrogeninducedcrackingtoascertaincriticallevelsofhydrogenfluxorhydrogencontentinthematerialforcrackingtooccur.1.1Thispracticegivesaprocedurefortheevaluationofhydrogenuptake,permeation,andtransportinmetalsusinganelectrochemicaltechniquewhichwasdevelopedbyDevanathanandStachurski.Whilethispracticeisprimarilyintendedforlaboratoryuse,suchmeasurementshavebeenconductedinfieldorplantapplications.Therefore,withproperadaptations,thispracticecanalsobeappliedtosuchsituations.1.2Thispracticedescribescalculationofaneffectivediffusivityofhydrogenatomsinametalandfordistinguishingreversibleandirreversibletrapping.1.3Thispracticespecifiesthemethodforevaluatinghydrogenuptakeinmetalsbasedonthesteady-statehydrogenflux.1.4Thispracticegivesguidanceonpreparationofspecimens,controlandmonitoringoftheenvironmentalvariables,testprocedures,andpossibleanalysesofresults.1.5Thispracticecanbeappliedinprincipletoallmetalsandalloyswhichhaveahighsolubilityforhydrogen,andforwhichthehydrogenpermeationismeasurable.Thismethodcanbeusedtoranktherelativeaggressivityofdifferentenvironmentsintermsofthehydrogenuptakeoftheexposedmetal.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
